Your Compass treatment team will walk side-by-side with you on your journey to wellness.
Team members are experienced, caring and devoted to helping you get the most out of treatment and life. They respect your goals and have the expertise needed to help you accomplish them. They do this by treating you as a whole person medically, psychologically, socially and spiritually.
Team Responsibilities
The team includes the patient, a psychiatrist, a
clinical psychologist and a social worker. If needed, specialists for addictions, eating disorders and more can be added to the core team.
This team performs the following functions:
- The psychiatrist leads and coordinates the team and manages medication.
- The social worker communicates with your family and coordinates the post-discharge wellness plan.
- The psychologist performs diagnostic testing and communicates with the patient about progress.
Together, you and your team set goals for treatment and develop a personalized treatment plan. We use evidence-based treatments at Compass, and we also emphasize the value of relationships, communication and personal strengths that support your medical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Individual psychotherapy is conducted by a clinical professional on the team, generally two times per week.
If you have an addiction or substance use issue, you will receive additional therapy, along with education about addictions. Your addictions counselor will help you determine the best recovery pathway – 12-step groups, Refuge Recovery, SMART Recovery, etc. – that’s most likely to help you attain your goals for recovery.
