Our medically managed detox, or withdrawal, pathway for adults is designed to increase a patient's likelihood of continuing their recovery with supportive treatment. It takes place on our Stabilization Program, where patients can rest, decompress, and be cared for by compassionate, experienced mental health professionals.
Addictions psychiatrist Daryl Shorter, MD, medical director of Addictions Services as well as the Center for Addiction Medicine and Recovery, manages the Detox (Withdrawal Management) Service.
Most detox patients can expect to stay on the pathway for 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance the patient is withdrawing from.
