In a nationwide survey, psychiatrists selected The Menninger Clinic as a top psychiatric hospital, ranking it #9 on U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals list. A Texas Medical Center institution offering a growing range of treatment services for adolescents and adults, Menninger has been ranked in the top 10 national psychiatry leaders by U.S. News & World Report for 30 consecutive years.
In psychiatry, the U.S. News & World Report’s rankings recognize the best hospitals for patients experiencing difficult-to-treat disorders using three years of survey results (2018 to 2020) from physicians nationwide who are board certified in psychiatry.
“It is great honor for everyone at The Menninger Clinic and our Baylor College of Medicine faculty to have the responsibility to support the mental health and well-being of Texas and of people across the country,” said President and CEO
Armando Colombo.
“Our clinical teams provide personalized care with the right blend of art and science. We have pioneered measuring the effectiveness of this treatment, and the results consistently demonstrate that patients sustain their well-being for at least a year after they leave Menninger,” said Colombo. “Going forward, we will improve access to make it easier for more Texans to access these life-changing results.”
In the first six months of 2020, Menninger opened a virtual Moms Program for Texas residents, a home-based treatment program for adolescents and families and a
sleep medicine service. It also pivoted during the pandemic to offer numerous services via telehealth.
During the three-year survey period, Menninger treated patients from all 50 states and more than 15 countries. Menninger specializes in assessment and stabilization, young adult issues, high-performing professionals, adults coping with substance use alongside psychiatric issues that affect work, family and well-being, preparing adults to live independently in their communities and sustaining mental health gains once they are at home. In addition, Menninger offers crisis stabilization, comprehensive assessments, day treatment, outpatient therapy, medication management and community integration programs.
