Solutions Outpatient Services, a recovery treatment program located in the Highland Park area of Dallas, has been acquired this month by The Menninger Clinic, the nationally recognized psychiatric hospital in Houston. Solutions Outpatient Services has provided family-focused substance use recovery treatment and intervention services for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex since 1995.
“We have seen an increasing number of Dallas-area residents come to Menninger for assessment and treatment,” said Menninger President and CEO
Armando E. Colombo. “In fact, it has been our honor to work with clients referred by Solutions Outpatient Services. We look forward to working closely with the Solutions team to address how we can be of greater service to the Dallas community by offering a range of treatment options for those seeking addictions treatment.”
Solutions Outpatient Services Executive Director
Lois Jordan, LCSW, LCDC, and colleagues at the practice have joined the Menninger staff and are continuing to meet the recovery needs of their current and incoming clients. Menninger will provide operational and information technology services.
“It’s been an honor to work with our clients and their families in Dallas for nearly 30 years, and I’m delighted that Solutions has the opportunity to continue this important work with the support of such a reputable hospital,” said Jordan. “In collaborating with the Menninger team on treatment solutions over the years, I know our current and future clients are in wonderful hands.”
In the 2022 State of Mental Health in America report, Texas ranked as the fourth-highest prevalence of mental illness in the country. This ranking includes adults and youth with any mental illness, substance use disorder or severe major depressive disorder in the past year. Additionally, recently published data shows nearly eight of every 100 Texans has a substance use disorder, primarily related to alcohol use, while one in five has a drug-related disorder. Opioid use represents one of the deadliest threats. Opioids and many other drugs may be unknowingly distributed with deadly fentanyl.
A third of adult Texans with an alcohol or other substance use disorder also have a co-occurring mental health condition that also requires treatment for changing the downward spiral in health. The Menninger Clinic has a long record of treating co-occurring disorders.
