The Menninger Clinic and The Health Museum are pleased to present How You Can Improve Your Child's Sleep, a free webinar for parents on January 20 from 12 to 1 pm CT. Sleep expert Mary Rose, PsyD, DBSM, CBSM, will be the presenter.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than half of children ages 6-17 get less than the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep nightly. Those who don't get enough sleep are at greater risk of behavior and health problems like diabetes, obesity, injuries and poor mental health.
Dr. Rose, who is a staff psychologist with Menninger's Sleep Medicine Service and an associate professor at Baylor College of Medicine, will provide tips on how parents can improve sleep for young children and adolescents. She’ll share information on the importance of sleep, its benefits for physical, cognitive, and academic performance, parents’ role in creating an environment with a viable sleep schedule and screening for sleep disorders like sleep apnea and insomnia.
This webinar is a free virtual event. To register, visit The Health Museum's website.
