Mental health clinicians may now register for Menninger's October 29 webinar, Emerging Adulthood: Pitfalls, Protective Factors and the Role of Mental Health Providers. Continuing education will be available for this free event.
Patricia Daza, PhD, ABPP, and Mary Oxford, PhD, will present this webinar. Both have extensive experience treating young adults with mental health and substance use issues.
In this webinar, they will discuss how young adulthood marks a time of intensive exploration of identity, with individuals in this population having characteristics of both adolescents and adults while being neither. For some, this exploration is met with an increase in mental health difficulties, which also significantly impacts their family systems. Drs. Daza and Oxford will define the period of emerging adulthood, why the delay into adulthood is more prevalent now in our society and what clinicians and family members can do to address the challenges.
