Deaths from drug overdoses, alcohol misuse and suicide are on the rise, claiming over one million lives in the past decade alone. If this trajectory continues, another 2 million people could lose their lives by 2025. This Giving Tuesday – December 3 – Menninger is asking our friends and supporters to #BringHealingToMind by donating in support of The Clinic’s life-saving, life-changing work.

“Every day, mental illness turns people’s lives upside down,” said Stephanie Cunningham, MBA, vice president of Business Development and interim vice president of Philanthropy. “There is an urgent need to develop and expand evidence-based efforts that better prevent, identify and treat psychiatric diseases.”

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Each year, millions of people give back to the causes that matter to them, helping to spark change around the world.

Mark your calendar for December 3 and #BringHealingToMind by making a gift of any size at donate.menningerclinic.org/GivingTuesday. Your gift will help to:

  • Advance leading research in neuroscience, genetics, microbiology and other emerging areas to uncover new knowledge in mental health.
  • Further unique training programs to equip tomorrow’s mental health providers with the expertise and compassion to tackle the toughest challenges.
  • Strengthen community efforts to bring people with serious mental illness out of the shadows and to enhance the social, emotional and mental well-being of at-risk youth.

Nearly one in five Americans live with mental illness, yet fewer than half seek treatment. When you join with Menninger on Giving Tuesday, you will silence the stigma that prevents those in need from seeking help and inspire others to raise their voices for mental health.
