Sharlie brings nearly 15 years of experience to her role as a senior clinician. Her areas of expertise include adolescents, young adults, adults, trauma, attachment theory and psychodynamic theory. She has research interests in the areas of attachment, trauma, eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from The University of Chicago, she went on to earn a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
Sharlie believes that self-care keeps her of sound mind and body in this field. She trains for marathons with a local running club, volunteers with and fosters dogs for Houston Pets Alive, reads, dances salsa and spends time with family and friends. In addition, she supports the Humane Society in Belize, which is where her family is from.
