Sanjay J. Mathew, MD, is a senior research scientist at The Menninger Clinic and a professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). He is also BCM's vice chair for Research.
His research interests include clinical trials as well as experimental medicine studies in depression, anxiety and PTSD.
He is a member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, for which he serves as the chief medical officer; the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (fellow); and the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
He was named a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for 2010-2020.

Dr. Mathew earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from BCM. He completed his residency at Columbia University and a research fellowship in treatment-resistant mood and anxiety disorders at New York State Psychiatric Institute.
