John Najera, LPC-S, LCDC, CCTP, NCTTP, is a senior addictions counselor with Menninger's Recovery IOP for Adults.
John has expertise in acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. He is a certified clinical trauma professional and a credentialed tobacco treatment specialist. In addition to experience with addiction and mental health issues, John has experience working with grief, adjustment issues, life transitions, chronic pain, tobacco cessation and nicotine dependence.
He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
John earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Houston and his master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and learning about different cultures, playing guitar, exercising and spending time in nature.
