Continuing education

The Menninger Clinic has a long tradition of providing educational programming to develop the skills and competencies of its staff members.

Menninger is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians, the National Board for Certified Counselors for social workers, the American Psychological Association for psychologists. the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals and is an approved provider of the Texas Nurses Association.

A range of in-house resources are offered and are open to administrative and clinical staff, including:

• Active Continuing Education Committee that seeks input from staff to plan educational events for the year
• Grand Rounds every Wednesday via interactive teleconference with the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine
• A major international symposium in Houston yearly
• 2 continuing education events a month open to staff
• Hospital-wide staff development programs
• 3-4 continuing education conferences at selected major cities in the United States
