Benefits
Menninger offers competitive wages and benefits. The following summary highlights the benefits available to employees. The benefits that are available for half- (.5 FTE) to full-time employees are labeled accordingly. In most cases, benefits will be available after the 90th day of employment with The Menninger Clinic.
Health & Dental Plan (.5 FTE or greater)
Employees have a choice of single coverage or family coverage with dependents covered up to age 23 (age 26 if full-time student).
Employee premiums for the health and dental plan are based on an income schedule, with Menninger paying approximately 70 percent of the total cost. Basic and expanded health plans are available.
Health & Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts (all staff)
The Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts allow you to save money on a pre-tax basis to cover the out of pocket costs for medical, dental and work-related child or dependent care.
Vision Plan (.5 FTE or greater)
The vision plan covers an eye exam and new lenses once every 12 months and frames once every 24 months. This benefit is 100 percent paid by Menninger for the employee. Family coverage is available.

Life Insurance (full-time staff)
- Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment
(AD&D)2 times annual base salary. Menninger pays the entire cost of these benefits.
- Optional life insurance (employee paid)Choice of 1, 2, 3 or 4 times annual base salary ($500,000 maximum). Employee cost is based on amount of coverage and age of staff member.
- Optional AD&D (employee paid)Optional AD&D is available in multiples of 1 to 10 times salary up to a maximum of 10 times your salary or $500,000.
- Spousal life insurance (employee paid)Optional term insurance of $10,000-$50,000, in multiples of $10,000, is available. Employee cost is based on amount of coverage and employee's age.
- Dependent insurance (employee paid)Optional term insurance is available for all dependent children up to age 19 (age 23 if full-time student).
Long-term Disability Insurance (full-time staff)
Monthly benefit equals 60 percent of your monthly pre-disability earnings base salary ($10,000 per month maximum). Benefit is integrated with any Social Security or Worker's Compensation payments. Menninger pays the entire cost of this benefit.
Group Long-term Care Insurance (.5 FTE or greater)
Plan provides a benefit for community-based, hospice or nursing home care. This benefit is employee paid.
Supplemental Benefits Programs
Optional supplemental benefits for short-term disability, cancer, hospital expenses and intensive care are available and are 100 percent employee paid.

403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
- Employer Contribution: Menninger will match up to 5 percent of your contribution at the end of each quarter to a plan-sponsored investment company. Employees become eligible at the end of the first quarter following one year of service and a minimum of 1,000 hours worked.
- Employee Contribution: Employees with a minimum of 1,000 hours of service may save pre-tax salary deferrals up to the federal annual limits. Investment options are the same as those available for the employer contribution. Deductions are tax deferred.
Travel Accident Life Insurance (.5 FTE and greater)
Pays 3 times annual base salary if you die accidentally while on official Menninger business. Maximum benefit is $200,000 per person. Menninger pays the entire cost of this benefit.
Worker's Compensation (all staff)
Pays for all costs associated with job-related accidents, illnesses and injuries. Menninger pays the total cost of this benefit.
Social Security (FICAall staff)
Taxes for retirement, death disability and Medicare are deducted from your salary each paycheck. Menninger matches a portion of the taxes up to the percent limits and wage base for the tax year.
